![]() I’ve then been able to watch the recording from that point. Start watching the recording and then immediately move the watch point to just past the error time. Reset the box as this normally caused mine to freeze. My work around has been to watch up to the error message and note the time into the recording. As a reformat loses my recorded programmes I have avoided doing that as I have a lot of programmes still to watch. I think PVR hard discs are special in that the auto read after write check is disabled thus making read errors more likely. I’ve been having similar assorted problems that I put down to a bad disc sector. On playback, it would go so far, maybe half a programme, then say the channel is not available or scrambled. I'm fairly tech minded, can build a computer, and would have a go at a new hard drive if that would fix it.Ī few months back it started losing the latter part of recordings. We've changed nothing in our equipment set-up for two years, the Humax problem is just a few months old. Final comments - our BT Vision box on a TV in another room still works fine. The 9300 still works fine as a receiver, but we want it to record. Over the past week I've tried a disk format - as soon as I clicked OK to the format, it said it had been done - on a computer that takes a good few minutes? After another couple of restores, the games disappeared and record reappeared (but still not recording properly), but after another freeze today and then resetting the record menu just won't reappear. A couple of times after doing the resettings, etc, the recording option in the main menu disappeared, but a new selection - games - appeared. ![]() I've done all the obvious - restarting, restoring default settings, channel retune, etc, etc, and downloaded the latest software update. Then it would freeze as a recording was selected for playing. Not every programme, but a random selection. Then it would show this from the start of playback. A few months back it started losing the latter part of recordings. I've been looking through for an answer to this and while it might be there, I can't find it.
